Girls Voice Africa proposes a four-year, large-scale intervention targeting 200,000 school-going girls and vulnerable pupils in Busia District and surrounding communities. The project focuses on menstrual hygiene management (MHM), sexual and reproductive health education, sanitation, leadership development, counselling, and life skills training.
The programme responds to persistent challenges faced by girls, including lack of access to sanitary materials, menstruation-related school absenteeism, increased health risks, teenage pregnancy, early marriage, and school dropout.
To improve hygiene practices, reduce diseases associated with poor menstrual management, enhance dignity, and ensure that girls remain healthy, confident, and consistently enrolled in school.
